I used a sony A77 DSLR with a F2.8 16-50 sony lens set at 35mm. I have the image stabilization off on the camera, but I used a homemade camera slider I have built. Its essentially two metal conduit boxes with piping in between them, and a platform that slides on it using a cut up neck tie as a handle to pull it and small pvc couplers and a piece of fake wood floor as the base .The platform stuff is all drilled together with a screw mount for my camera to go on, and the metal piping runs through the pvc couplers creating a track. Its bobo ha, but it gets the job done for the most part, especially if you lubricate the track. Finally, I just stabalize it in Final cut X and it comes out pretty smooth. That video was just throw away stuff, so I was kinda lazy and didn't feel like fixing the zooming in and out caused by the fading between stabilized scenes in a few of the transitions. I will be picking up a real automated camera slider and Jib crane very soon though actually, so when I make my finished Z video it will be very epic. I own a business and I do all of the video work for it, so I am starting to convert to pro equipment instead of DIY stuff, although the DIY stuff has been great to me and I highly recommend it. I can post a picture of it later when I am home.
I just wanna go fast |
